Vehicle Description Vehicle Description This meticulously maintained and beautifully updated 912E (VIN 912600110) is a four owner car which has been owned by a family - father (3rd owner) and son (4th owner) since March 1990 (31 years).
History:
The car originally was plated in 1976 in Mobile, Alabama.
In December 1976 it received the under body corrosion proofing by the Dealer Continental Volkswagen, Inc of Mobile Alabama (document proof in pictures).
This under body protection remains in great shape today.
Between December 1976 and March 1978, the car was acquired to be owned and operated in Redondo Beach, California until the current owner purchased the car and had it shipped to Michigan.
This 912E has resided in Southeast Michigan since 1990.
Vehicle registration documents are available showing the 4 owners over time and are available with the car sale.
Restorations:
Interior:
In 1990, the car received a full interior restoration at Shelby Trim in Sterling Heights, MI changing it to all black leather which today remains in great condition.
The interior carpets are all original and have little to no wear or tears.
The trunk carpet was replaced in 2016 and the black floor mats (Porsche Red logo) were replaced in 2018 and show as new.
Exterior:
In April 2002, the car received a full paint restoration with glass, fenders etc.
, removed for this detailed repaint.
Windshield and rear glass rubber seals were replaced at this time.

This 912E remains in its original color Guards (India) Red / G8 (documented from Porsche Cars North America Product Spec Sheet) and paint shows extremely well.
The front valance has some small stone marks from the car being driven.
Electrical / Brakes / Tires:
In 2008, all brakes lines were replaced with stainless steel lines and brake calipers were reconditioned and painted Porsche Red with new brake pads.
Tires are Falken brand P195 / 60R14 and are in good condition.
In 2014, the windshield washer pump was replaced (OEM) and works as new.
All instrument panel gauges:
fuel, oil, speedometer, tachometer and clock are in working order.
In 2017, the vehicle received a professionally installed Alpine receiver with Bluetooth coupled with a 4 channel power amplifier, Kicker subwoofer and four Kicker speakers.
Power train:
In 2016 (144,063 miles), the car received an entire engine and transmission rebuild with work performed by Munks Motors and Norris Racing located in Waterford, Michigan (all documents available with sale).
